The Indian company Synthite Industries Ltd plans to implement a project in Uzbekistan for the cultivation and processing of pepper

Pepper is selected as an experimental crop for this initiative. Agreements on this endeavor were concluded during President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s official visit to India. The total investment in the project is estimated at 4 million US dollars.

Synthite Industries is India’s largest producer and exporter of spices and essential oils. The company has more than forty years of experience in the global market, and the range of products consists of 500 items focused on herbal ingredients for flavor and aroma. Its turnover in 2017 exceeded $ 250 million. The goods are widely used in the food industry for bakery and confectionery products, dairy, pickles, various types of oils, sauces and ketchups.

During the visit to Uzbekistan, the company representatives met with officials of Samarkand, Khorezm and Tashkent regions, where they were shown land for growing and processing crops. Previously, these regions were chosen for the project implementation.

During the negotiations, the delegation of Synthite Industries stressed that by the early 2019 they plan to complete marketing research and start growing the first experimental samples within a year.

The partners discussed preliminary dates for the realization of the next phase of the investment project.
